What I would recommend is looking around at various forums such as retouchpro and modelmayhem, get your hands on one or a few DVD's such as Natalia Taffarels and look for stock resources at the web. Getting started with beauty and/or fashion seems like a good start and then when you've got the basic knowledge in PS keep on going with composites and such,
